Tonight was a Good Night

I saw one of my best friends tonight. I didn't really realize how much I missed her until I saw her again. They say that distance or time or something makes the heart grow fonder...the problem with that is that one has to have the time to think about someone in order to miss them. Since she's gone I haven't had a spare second to think about much of anything other than the mundane day to day things. I would say just work, but I'm sure I've been spending time on other things to...my non-existing hobbies, perhaps.

In today's age we fill all our time with false connections, so we believe we are with someone, or near them, or visiting them. We don't allow ourselves to think that we can truly miss someone because how can you miss them when you can "talk" with them immediately. You can really understand what missing someone means when you can't hear from them for an extended period of time. When they aren't on the other end of a text message.

Not really very sure where to go from there...I didn't mean for this to turn into some blathering post about how social media is changing the way the human race interacts. I guess let's just say that I had a good night with some good friends, and I probably need to get out more.
