news and updates

world news:
state of the union address happened last night, so i watched the first half at four am...then fell asleep because i was super tired.
jd salinger has past. january must be a hard month for people.

local news:
went ice skating last night and now have knees full of bruises.
went to the pearl afterwards and played scrabble and over ate on cereal.
this is why i was super tired when i finally got around to watching part of the state of the union address...all the clapping bores me, as well, which is another reason why i passed out.
ran two miles in under 25 minutes--which is actually a good thing...it means i'm getting better at it, and i walked less, too, which contributed to the lower time.
i will be working as "expo trainer" at a store just north of me during their opening week (aka i gets lots of moneys)
now it's time for dinner and then work!

Pay attention to MEEE!

gotta love the Rugrats.

Sometimes I wonder if I would get the reactions I wanted if I drew more attention to myself. I want people to notice the (apparent) little things about me that I have changed, but I don't want to be like "SO DID YOU NOTICE I DYED MY HAIR? I'D REALLY LOVE YOUR OPINION ON IT!" I'd rather just have my friends go "oh! cool hair!" or something.

Then when someone I know is drawing attention to him/herself in order to get the "OH! YOU'RE NEW HAIR LOOKS GREAT" response I want to throw things at him/her.

Anyway. I finally opened my new watch that I got for Christmas. It's got Little Miss Sunshine on it, and she basically screams happy so maybe I'll be able to let this go. (The only problem with said new watch is that it ticks really, really loud so I can only wear it during the day.)

In other (not) news it's raining (still).

cover yo-self

I have come to the conclusion that it is no longer SO popular to show off every inch of skin possible. Short skirts may still be "hot" and tube tops may still be "sexy," but hiding a little more skin is becoming ever more popular. There is always a style reaction--bell-bottoms to tight jeans, 50's skirts to short skirts, bright 80's colors to BRIGHTER 90's colors, etc. and I think that covering is going to be a bit of a reaction to Brittney and Rhianna and Shakira.
Leaving more to the imagination is just more sexy than showing off everything you've got.

i was gonna write a new post

but then i got tired.

i got off work a little earlier tonight than usual, but i'm pretty sure that's because of the weather and the fact that we slowed down earlier (because of the weather). i am still a little iffy on all these new managers at my place of work because they don't really seem to be able to get the handle on how things are done.

it will be nice when the handle is gotten.

wrote my name in the snow tonight...with my FOOT you weirdo. it was on the parking lot for my apartment...the snow was actually that thick! (which isn't saying much because the parking lot of my apartment complex sux, and they would not have salted if a blizzard was called for.) the snow was oddly light and dry (which is an oxymoron, the "dry snow" part) and blew away as soon as i started to draw in it...my name may not even be visible come morning.

i hope no one hits my car whilst careening around the apartment parking lot. unless they leave insurance or something. i don't know that my policy would cover a hit and run...

plus the paperwork just wouldn't be worth it.

also-someone downstairs just slammed open or shut a door or just kicked a wall or threw their respective other against the wall.
or it was my roommate waking up thirsty thinking that her closet was the door out of her room...you know...whatever. :)

(i was tired, but i wrote one anyway! :P )
