Running noses

Firstly, I believe I am very allergic to this state. To the point that during my travels back to this state I began to have an allergic reaction. Now, I'm not actually sure what started this reaction, but I didn't have near enough tissues (one would have been at least a start). I am now completely stuffed up, and the ear I couldn't get to pop on the plane (or the rest of the night) is now stuffed up as well.

On to a story I meant to tell you a few days ago.

I made someone cry the other day. It began to put into perspective the amount of power I didn't have any idea I held over the employees. I realize now that there was nothing I could have done, and she was close to walking out on her job anyway. Being the straw on the back of the proverbial horse is not an easy position. I told her to "stop asking questions and just get it done." Which apparently equated to me speaking to her like a dog. Whatever my tone of voice may have been any sort of "talking down to her" was completely unintentional, but she wouldn't let me apologize, nor would she accept any sort of apology when I managed to get her in the office.

She is a hard worker, and I hope that she finds something that better fits her personality as threatening a boss with quitting shows that you are not fit for the job you've chosen. She did not threaten me...she simply quit on me, but she did threaten one of the other managers.

That is all of it. As far as I know.

dinner out

Well there doesn't seem to be much going on here. I've been trying to come up with something exciting to talk about, but there never really seems to be anything that I believe would really peak your interest. I feel like every blog I write needs to be so good that if you were stumbling onto my blog for the first time in this post you would think to yourself, "Damn. That's some good writing. I wonder what her other blog posts are like?"

And each one would be as good. You would feel a desire to keep reading that would be almost irresistible.

But instead I never write because no post is better than a post that sends you away.

Or is it?

~*~*~*~*~*~

So Josh and I went to a restaurant tonight for the first time. We usually scout a few places out and eat solely at those restaurants that have excellent service (or no need for customer service at all) or excellent food. Either way if it's good it sticks.

Well we had free food tonight...which meant we could branch out a little bit. And boy was the food worth it! The ribs had excellent flavor and the steak was amazingly tender. The server however...he was kind of creepy. He started off by saying "It's great to see you guys in here again!" Which, of course, was very confusing as we had never been in there before, but we figured it might be part of his shtick to make the guest feel "like a regular".

But it wasn't.

This guy genuinely thought he knew us from somewhere. He started off by thinking that we were both from Maryville, and then moved on to thinking that we both worked together. Then he started making up names of ex-fiance's (or he really knew someone) and saying that he knew people that we should know.

It was all kind of awkward.

But it was free, and my water stayed full so a little bit of awkward makes us stronger...maybe?
